The Heart Behind RP Career Consulting
About Rosaria
My path into career counseling began unexpectedly. While studying Pre-Law at John Jay College with plans to pursue a legal career, I found myself increasingly curious about a different question: Why do people choose the careers they do?
One afternoon in the cafeteria, that curiosity turned into action. I began informally asking people about their career decisions—unknowingly creating my first career assessment. At the time, I was working for a market research company, and I took this questionnaire with me on my travels, asking anyone willing to share their story.
Two years later, I leaped off my original path and decided to “shadow” a career counselor, Ilana Levitt, after a quick online search. She welcomed me into her work without hesitation—and I was instantly hooked. Today, Ilana continues to serve as my mentor, and I am a proud associate at Ilana Levitt & Associates.
That experience led me to pursue my Master’s degree in Counselor Education at the University of South Florida, one of the few programs in the country offering a concentration in career development.
Since then, I have built a diverse career in the field—working as a career counselor, trainer, and administrator across higher education, private practice, and employer relations. Most recently, I earned my Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) designation in Pennsylvania and am continuing my journey toward full licensure.
As a first-generation American, I witnessed firsthand the opportunities this country provided my family—opportunities that shaped my values, work ethic, and purpose. I am deeply passionate about helping others access and create those same opportunities in their own lives. Above all, I am a proud wife and a devoted mom to my beautiful baby boy, roles that continue to inspire both my personal and professional journey.
